I do not claim to be well practiced with Dels' Active Arts; however, as I sat looking at PerceptionU Home Page and saw Beca's comment about the V and W, I remembered how I recently learned how to do that crazy move.  If I sit and look at my hands and then try to make the V, I simply cannot do it without the little finger also  separating.  So I tried this.  I closed my eyes and held my hand up with fingers all touching.  Then with eyes closed I thought only about separating the second and third fingers from each other and taking no thought of either the first or little finger.

After separating the second and third fingers with eyes closed, I then opened them to see that I had in fact made the V…with two fingers on each side!  I tried again with my eyes open, and the same thing as before occurred…..the little finger also separated.  But with focusing on separating the second and third only, the little finger stays close to the third.

Talk about rocket science!  I love this little awareness.  I wonder if that will work with wiggling my ears. Smile

Addendum to previous message:  I still cannot do the W, and the doing of V with one hand and W with the other again and again?  I have a long way to go developing that much focus!

One step at a time.

Have you noticed that they keep changing the default options on Google and gmail?  I generally click on the arrow next to "reply" and select "reply all" and they've taken the option out.  Now I have to go to the box at the bottom of the email and click reply all…..  I think that's what I do to people – because one of my underlying statements is "there's ALWAYS a better mousetrap," and I'm always tweaking and twerping stuff…..  and without announcement that things have changed, I often get caught up in "Hey, where did that go???  What's going on???? Has someone been messing with my stuff????"

Good awareness for today.  Come to think of it, good awareness for yesterday, too, since I had a similar reaction to the Qi Gong video Del put on http://www.activeawarenessarts.com  I finally watched it and practiced with him instead of from the workbook.  There was a LOT of stuff added to it from before.  My immediate reaction was, "I've been doing it wrong!  I've been teaching it wrong!  That's not the way I remember it!  That's not the way it is in the workbook!"

So I stopped.  I POL'd and then realized that everything added is actually a huge bonus and that I can never "do it wrong," just keep practicing in the moment.  After that, the feeling of guilt and annoyance went away and I got on with Qi Gong.

Today, I'm just clicking the "reply all" button.  Keeps me Aware in the moment!  I think that's called Present…..

Did you know that you can click "a" on keyboard, which will be "reply all" with that one click?

Always good to be aware in the moment and POL no matter what button we may push!

No, I didn't!  Thanks, Barb!

Speaking of being Aware, the math I had to solve for this is 2 plus 4 = 6!  Ooh, was I not supposed to give away the answer????
