OfflineHad a really new experience today – Beca sent around a link from the Mother Church in Boston – they are now doing a Wednesday afternoon Testimony meeting on the internet. So I attended my first CS meeting! I've always been curious, and wanted to go, but not enough to actually drive into town and park, and go in and be there for the meeting, and then have to talk to people afterward…… so this was perfect for me! Now, when I do go to a meeting, I'll be a little more aware of what goes on there, and will feel a little more comfortable. I've been to and used the Reading Room, but not attended an actual meeting. Very cool!
Imagine this; there were thousands of us saying The Lord's Prayer at the same time – from at least six different countries, and I gave up counting the states represented! The Lord's Prayer in unison… the hair was standing up on my arms.
I have always thought that was one of Mrs Eddy's most brilliant ideas, everyone around the world studying the same lesson together each week!
On a small scale that is what we attempt to do in The Council .. and we know what THAT does!
For anyone who wants to attend this service, here is the link.

It is different then a Sunday service, but you can also that one online too!

OfflineThanks, Barb! I just checked the bottom link in Beca's reply, and it's the link to the Sunday service. 10 and 5. Definitely going to check in on that!
While we're on the subject, I was on the way home from my client today and saw a bumper sticker on the back of a car – "Good News Radio – tune in! 104.9" – so I did! It's a Christian radio station, not just a "good news" station, and there was some interesting stuff – when I started listening there was a sort of sermon going on, but then another guy came on and read about Rachel and Leah, and then someone else came on and did a really interesting couple minutes about how "God leads you over the long term in a straight line." He talked about how his daughter would stand in the living room on a box using a wooden spoon as her microphone, and she grew up to be an accomplished singer. And her son loved to tie things together (at age 3) and when the father opened the front door, he found a string attached, which opened up a bureau drawer in his bedroom. He grew up to be a planner in the ministry. Interesting stories, all.
And the music was really great! A nice mix of hymnal and 'modern' music well sung with great harmonies and talent. It was fun! Found a "good news" radio! Then this guy comes on and starts to talk about how the Christians are being killed, hunted, etc., in the middle east. Uh oh, NOT a good news radio. Sad, had to turn it off.
However, was interesting to "follow the symbol" of that bumper sticker, and I got to hear some really great stuff!
Some words from Tao Te Ching translated by Scott Hamill as read this morning in Wayne Dyer's "Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life"
captured my interest and attention: The sage does not hoard, and thereby bestows. The more he lives for others, the greater his life. The more he gives to others, the greater his abundance.
Seems a good idea to put these into practice each day even though I don't claim to have clear understanding of many things I've read as written by Lao-tzu. Some of my further inspirational message along these lines is simplification……in life, studies, home environment, travels, etc. KISS. Yep. has new meaning for me. Thank you Tao Te Ching and Mr. Dyer.

OfflineI was out all day yesterday. It was my periodic scheduled day at a client who is at least an hour away drive time. Why haven't I gone completely virtual with them? I think it gives me a reason to get out and see the world once in a while.
On the way home, I passed an old, old Congregational Church with the graveyard surrounding one side and the back of it. When I looked at it, I got such a feeling of holiness that I wanted to go back and sit in that church!
My immediate thought was, "THAT's the feeling I want!" My immediate response was, "So have that feeling all the time. You don't need a church or anything else to know that feeling."
Now, don't get me wrong, I have feelings and thoughts like that all the time. I KNOW I do! So, why did I remember this one so clearly? Why do I feel inspired to write about it NOW?
Because I'm ready for it.
It makes sense to me.
I can actually FEEL it, EXPERIENCE it, HAVE it. I did yesterday when I thought it, and I do now.
I Am Holy, Wholly, Spiritual as the compound idea of God.
