I missed yesterday..the last day for November's gratitude.  But I shall add this gratitude:  I'm grateful for the e.e. cummings quote posted on home page of PerU that makes me smile:  To be nobody but myself–in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else–means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight, and never stop fighting.

I'm grateful that I am not human.  I am grateful to know that the battle is not mine but God's.  I am grateful to know we may each be truly conscious of what is truly going on, and that everyone can understand God.

I am grateful to know that we destroy a lie by telling the truth and this declaration of truth is the healing. A lie cannot stand in the presence of truth.

We are love. Thank you!

Today, I am grateful to have this forum for divine Idea's coming from new friends.  Thank you all for keeping this forum going.  You are all so inspiring.  Today, I turn to the One Mind to manifest in me humility, goodness and love.  There is no lack.  There is no island.  No personality, only God, God and it fills all space.  I choose to express these qualities.

I just have to add my thanks for an awesome gift I received today!

Over the weekend I tried to use my debit card and that embarrassing thing happened – "I'm sorry, it says they are unable to process the transaction."  It doesn't matter that I knew I had funds to cover the transaction – it happened and that's always uncomfortable!  I did, however, have the cash on me, so I took care of my purchase and went on my way.  Well, I checked on line and yes, I had more than sufficient funds to take care of this, so this morning I went to the bank to see what the problem is.

The teller was gracious, and she's a long time acquaintance of mine, so I knew we were getting to the bottom of this.

She was on hold for several minutes with one operator at the main office, and then was given another number to call.  What IS going on here, I'm thinking!

Her comment was "Oh.  Thank you.  Thank you very much.  Yes, she's here, and I'll take care of it."  And she hung up the phone.

Turns out my card number was compromised!  That's bank speak for someone stole my card number and tried to use it.  They tested it with an 89 cent transaction, and the back office caught it before it went through!  Therefore, the potential theft was never allowed to complete and they blocked my card and cancelled it before I lost a penny!

HUGE Thanks to Divine Mind for keeping us all safe!  I love my bank!

I am grateful for a day of baking Christmas cookies and goodies with my sister.  This is something we have not shared in many years.  It was fun, delicious and delightful.

I am grateful for butter……

I agree with Julia……can't have a good Christmas cookie without it!

Hoo boy, Barb, I can taste those Christmas cookies!  YUM!

Today I am sending out a special Thank You to Corinne for mentioning The Medici Effect: What elephants and epidemics teach us about innovation by Frans Johansson.

I borrowed it from the state interlending library, which means I borrowed it from Fairfield University Library without leaving my own home town!  Thanks for that, too!  And when I opened the cover, imagine my surprise to find it autographed by the author himself!  I wonder if the library knows that?????

At any rate, I find a lot of the concepts he is proposing in the book to be remarkably Shiftian in nature.  (Guess I'm going to have to put 'Shiftian' in the Shift Dictionary; it is underlined meaning the computer wants me to find a REAL word.  It IS a Real Word…..)

I will be getting the book for Kindle, I'm sure!  In the meantime, thanks, Corinne, for suggesting the book, and thanks Interlending Library system for delivering it to my doorstep to read!

Adding to the cookie baking gratitude…..because we had so many wonderful and delicious different kinds of cookies, my sister decided to invite a neighbor for tea.  This then grew and expanded to 8 additional friends and neighbors….all spontaneous making phone calls and happening yesterday afternoon, to everyone's delight!  Cookies and my sister's beautiful Christmas decorations added to a fun event.

Sometimes this sort of unplanned and spontaneous event makes the best gift…so this can also be included in the giving and receiving blog as well!
